Fellow GMs,

Since I now have both my own projector screen and overhead projector, if anyone has maps they want printed out you can post links or whatever and I'll print them out and bring them to game sessions I attend. I will also leave a few blank transparencies with our regular GMs if they want to prepare maps in advance. Just run them off on any printer or copier and you'll have a permanent drawing you can mark over and erase from.

Printed transparencies are great for tracking character positions on a map and easier than constantly redrawing a white board. They could also be used to make combat data tracking forms. (turn orders, enemy wounded status, declared actions, etc.) Even if you don't have an overhead projector handy for a mission you can still lay the map over a white surface and mark on it like normal.

Of course you can just draw on the transparencies by hand with a dry or wet erase marker if that's your thing. Then you can wipe it totally clean afterward and keep recycling the same transparencies. I don't know how it would work to use wet erase for your map and dry erase to mark positions. The wet erase may or may not stay in place when you dry wipe. I don't have any wet erase markers to test with.

Transparencies cost about $0.22-$0.35 each and I'm not going to finance more than 3 maps for one mission unless it's a super special occasion. If you want to make more maps than that, then get a box from Amazon or the office supply store of your choice. Or I can sell you an smaller amount at my cost if you don't need a box of 50-100. (Usually around 3-4 sheets for $1) After a while we will have a good selection of pre-made maps and forms to use in later sessions.
